The students have been exposed to subtraction so it will be an extension/enrichment lesson.
We will learn a saying to help us when we see double digit subtraction problems. I plan on introducing the saying in the first slide and explaining it to the students. I will then have a few examples with visual manipulatives. The students will be able to ask questions on the voice thread and I will answer them. If the students are understanding this then we will move to independent work. I will have subtraction questions and have the students answer them. Making sure that they are using the helpful jingle.
